James M Harrison

Experience

James M. Harrison has been licensed to practice law in Texas since November 2001. He began his legal career as a tax associate with KPMG, LLP, one of the nation’s largest accounting firms, where he tackled complex tax issues involving insurance, corporate income, mergers, and acquisitions.

After his time at KPMG, James joined COATS|ROSE, where he expanded his expertise to include business organization, corporate transactions, restructuring and dissolution, real estate transactions (commercial and residential), loan documentation, collections, and construction law. Drawing from these experiences, James eventually established his own practice, where he continues to serve clients with dedication and expertise.

Education

While attending South Texas College of Law, James earned numerous accolades, including membership in the South Texas Law Review, recognition on the Dean’s List across several semesters, the prestigious Order of the Lytae award, and an appointment as a Langdell Scholar. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in May 2001. Prior to law school, James graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston–Clear Lake with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Background

Born in Pasadena, Texas, and raised in Deer Park, Texas, James takes pride in his roots. He is a proud graduate of Deer Park High School, where his early years instilled the values that guide him today.
