Background

James M. Harrison was born Pasadena, Texas and raised in Deer Park, Texas. James is a proud graduate of Deer Park High School.

Education

He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston – Clear Lake with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting before attending law school. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from South Texas College of Law in May of 2001. While attending South Texas College of Law, James was a Member of the South Texas Law Review, was a member of the Dean’s list for several semesters, was awarded the Order of the Lytae and was appointed Langdell Scholar.

Experience

James has been licensed to practice law in the State of Texas since November 2001. His career began as a tax associate with KPMG, LLP, one of the largest accounting firms in the country. At KPMG, James worked on complex tax issues in the areas of insurance, corporate income, mergers and acquisitions. He then joined COATS|ROSE where his focus shifted towards business organization, corporate transactions, restructuring and dissolution, real estate transactions (both commercial and residential), loan document preparation and review, collections, and construction law before opening up his own practice.
